STATEMENT

A musical instrument functions as a tool, an aesthetic object, and as a means of communication. My work delves into the iconographic value of instruments as well as the sounds that they create. 

I make musical tools that subvert the standards of their inspirations. Whether it’s a tiny drum kit or a broken wooden horn, I use these conceptual instruments for their intended purpose- to make music. At the root of my trans-disciplinary practice, these instruments and my surroundings are recorded to compose sound paintings, synesthetic installations and tactile objects.
